Time for a New Meter

My FreeStyle Freedom Lite Glucose Meter was 12 years old and when I dropped it on a hard surface I started getting very strange numbers. Because I was so pleased with my meter I decided to buy another. I am now using my new meter and getting the results I am used to. I love the very clear instruction booklet that comes with it. I took the time to read it carefully before setting it up.

The best meter I’ve had

The meter is similar to other meters in that it has the usual test strip inserted with a drop blinking until you put the blood on the dot. The differences for me are 1) the outstanding user manual. I was able to set up in minutes (previous meters were not so user friendly). and 2) the accuracy. When I test twice within minutes the results are the same. Previous meters would vary by as much as 30 points. The only thing I don’t particularly like is the lancer. It is a bit awkward to use—bulky, with a button that is recessed—so I’m using another one from a previous kit.
